Our Story
The Breakovers formed in 2024 when three total strangers found a connection through their common fiddle teacher. After a few jam sessions, three lasting friendships were formed, with a foundational love of bluegrass music and storytelling. Since then, the band has worked hard to deliver joy into the world, raising moods, and capturing audiences with soulful lyrics and beautiful harmonies.

Melanie Biesecker
Vocals & Guitar
An accomplished songwriter with a vast repertoire of music, Mel's lyrics come from the soul and her guitar playing from the heart.
Gretchen Boyce
Violin & Vocals
An experienced violinist, Gretchen's hard-won skill shines through her instrument. Her natural talent for finding harmonies elevates the songs to the next level.
Josh Kling
Mandolin & Violin
Long-time mandolin player Josh has worked hard to develop lightning-fast fingers and precision on both instruments. He brings energy and excitement to the band.
